Interest Map

I am a current internal medicine resident at UW and a recent graduate of the MD/PhD program at Vanderbilt. The self-generated “Interest Map” above illustrates the many interconnected domains of my scientific and research interest. My overarching scientific aims are to use computational and informatics-based approaches to genomic medicine. Learn more about how I generated my interest map here.

For each domain of my interests, here are some projects I am or have worked on:

Medicine & medical education

  • Current Internal Medicine resident at University of Washington, Department of Medicine
  • Graduate of the Medical Scientist Training Program (MSTP) MD/PhD program at Vanderbilt (2016 - 2023)
  • Particular interests and training in medical genetics, clinical informatics, and general internal medicine
  • Studied public health in Delhi and Bhopal, India where I investigated and reported barriers to health care for women with TB
  • Human genetics & genomics

  • Human Genetics Ph.D. (May 2022) in the John A (Tony) Capra Lab where I studied the effects of genomic variation in different three-dimensional chromatin contexts on human disease and evolution
  • B.S. from the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill in Quantitative Biology (May 2015). My research included investigating RNA structure's relationship with human disease and integrating CNV data with exome sequence data to investigate Autism Spectrum Disorder.
  • Informatics & data science

  • Clinical contributor team leader at Glass Health where I am passionate about leveraging AI and novel technology to improve clinical reasoning, to personalize patient care, and facilitate medical education
  • Self-taught and formal education in computer science, information science, and machine learning. Comfortable using Python, R, MATLAB, Perl, JAVA, AWK, Linux shell scripting, Mathematica, MS office, HTML, CSS, and LaTeX
  • Proficient data presentation and in web authoring tools like Adobe Flash, Illustrator, Photoshop, Lightroom, Inkscape, DaVinci Resolve
